  1. It's entirely possible to state that Celtic have benefitted from big officiating decisions in games against us, including yesterday, without saying there's a conspiracy. I believe a number of referees are terrified to give decisions against Celtic and I think there are various reasons for that. I don't think refs are meeting in pub in Carfin plotting how to thwart Rangers, but I do think if a referee can avoid giving a penalty against Celtic in a tight game they will. If there's the slightest hint of controversy about a goal against Celtic they'll chalk it off. The personal and professional cost to a referee of upsetting the Celtic management, board, support and Celtic leaning media is high and as such they'll always err on the side of caution when faced with that. Who can blame them? None of that distracts from us needing to improve our side, but to pretend that big decisions in important games haven't gone against us with some regularity is surprising. Twice this season we've had goals against Celtic chalked off, both incorrectly, in my opinion. On both those occasions those goals would have given us a lead over Celtic, something we've not managed at all this season. Scoring first in these games gives you an advantage, it changes the momentum, it leads to changes in tactics, it changes the confidence of players. Who can say if we'd have won yesterday had the goal not being denied us, who can say if the first game a Ibrox would have played out differently had Roofe's perfectly good goal been allowed to stand. We'll never know. But to deny the evidence of our own eyes when it comes to these decisions, and to berate supporters for pointing this out I find bizarre.

  2. I think the positive to take from yesterday was that the manager changed things up and got the team to go toe to toe with Celtic. He couldn't do much about the fact several players were obviously less than 100%, many others injured and the lack of quality in the final third.

  3. Playing Celtic nowadays is like a boxing match & needing a KO to get a draw

  5. Some of them, yes, they are biased. I have no problem saying that. Whether they are afraid to make the right decisions or they're simply just prejudiced, or both, I don't know. But we have been on the wrong end of some absolutely terrible and wrong decisions - the majority of which, I believe, would have not happened with an 'impartial' referee/VAR. Yes, we have shit referees in Scotland, but some are ALSO biased. That said, we need to focus, first, on improving our performances so that the impact of the referees is irrelevant. @PoohBear, don't think our fans are in the same category as the septic 'always cheated, never defeated' lepers that you quoted, but we have a right to call out dubious decisions especially when they negatively impact the result. Our fans are fairly balanced and will accept decisions that go against us if we think they are fair. However, too man have not been.

  6. First post the day after an old firm loss in a cup final...🤔. Call me paranoid but I smell something rat like...

  7. The evidence is clear - Raskin is fouled before he pushes Hart (ot puts his hands on him). Ian has posted several videos that clearly show that and we have to assume VAR would also have these available. It's either a penalty to Rangers or a goal to Rangers. Yet, it was awarded as a free kick to Celtic.

  8. That was my takeaway. They were basically at full strength and many of their players were anonymous IMO. Their Japanese trinity had zero impact and even their best player (O'Reilly) was quiet. I reckon if Sima was fit and Cortes was available, things would be different. My big issue is the striking options. Danilo is not the answer.

  9. Yes. There are 4 officials who biased refereeing OF games: Collum( thankfully now retired), Clancy, Robertson & Walsh

  10. Aways gutted to lose to them and always gutted to lose a cup final but this time I left the game with a tinge of hope. If we can get actual wingers or fit players (Sima, Cortes) and a striker with a killer instinct (not Danilo), I can see some hope. We played well enough today with half fit players (Ridvan, Sima, Balogun) and still were in the game for 90 minutes. Our midfield played like tigers but this might be an unpopular opinion... Cantwell is not the answer to our problems. I feel that he holds on to the ball too long, takes to many touches and simply is a luxury we can't afford. For me, we would have won that game if Sterling is in the middle with Dio and Raskin and we had more quality out wide and up top. That should be our aim next season.

  11. But we’ve no one at Rangers to call out these referees when decisions are given against us.

  12. Both things can be right. We are shit and we've been on the receiving end of some very poor refereeing and var decisions that have impacted the result of our games against Celtic. I don't think it is a conspiracy but the Celtic supporting refs are all at it. Honest mistakes my ass. It is not a level playing field. Dermot Gallagher gets it right in his analysis.

  13. Another thing the yahoos are better at than us - the dark arts (on and off the pitch).

  14. Danilo has only had two injuries. He needs one more to qualify IP.

  15. That is what I also believe - for some reason, the high profile referees un Scotland won't give big decisions against Celtic (especially in OF games). I also firmly believe in-field referees are terrified to give us a penalty due to the "penalty to Rangers" narrative championed my Celtic and their media puppets.

  16. I understand that you were giving a high level overview but there are a significant amount of Rangers fans who believe we'll turnover that amount of players. A lot of Rangers fans are going to be disappointed when next seasons squad contains a lot of this seasons.

  17. What’s worrying is Rodgers has had Beaton in his back pocket since their game at Tynecastle when Beaton on VAR( quite correctly) called Robertson (the match ref) to look at the dangerous tackle by Iowata & upgrade from yellow to red. This incensed Brenda who called out Beaton and the Lawwell-influenced SFA did nothing which was scandalous Yesterday Beaton was on VAR. At our disallowed goal he knew after Hart flapped at the cross and sima scored hart was running around claiming he was fouled he had to get Walsh to the monitor to review. Celtic fan Walsh duly chopped off the goal which should have stood. If Rangers are going to have foreign managers they must be prepared to call this out like Walter would have done. I fear Clement is seen as a soft touch by the Celtic PR machine and the mhedia. Hence why Souness wanted Lampard.

  19. You are comparing a turd sandwich with a poop taco. Neither is the answer and we should cash in on both.

  20. We've got a bigger wage bill than Atalanta who've just won the uel and have been ucl regulars recently. In the grand scheme of European football, we compare well enough in revenue imo..the board have just severely mismanaged recruitment in recent years. We haven't got value for our signings for years. Bennett has spoken about being more aggressive in the market and implementing the trading model - we're seeing the beginnings of that with the Cortés, Diomande and Jefte deals. Get that 'pillar' right and we'll crack 100m+ in revenue - it'll take time though.

  21. Lundstrams cameo yesterday was bizarre even for him. He was like a drunk chasing a balloon in a bouncy castle.

  24. Agree with most apart from Lawrence (too slow) and Matondo (never going to make it). Sell both for any fee and use wages elsewhere.

  25. There is a massive problem if Rangers board/management start thinking there is bias against them, they lose focus on the fact that we are a shite team that needs completely rebuilt. Instead of doing the real job of overhauling this team, they will end up focusing energy on something that should remain on internet forums. I hope to god that no one at Rangers thinks the team did ok there and it’s only the ref that stopped us winning, we were shite and we couldn’t even win against the worst I have seen Celtic in years. It’s time to cut out the losers, unfortunately that’s the whole team, I love Tav but he has to go, they all do quite honestly. The focus is to now put together a quality team.

  26. Rangers hierarchy(above the team manager)have a duty to the Rangers supporters to question the integrity of match officials in OF games this season. These officials are unwilling/ afraid/or whatever to give decisions against Celtic in this his fixture Martin Bain called this out years ago. Over to you james bisgrove

  27. Thanks. Said that since day 1.

  28. Stop it, it was a stone wall penalty apparently. As you correctly say, the ball is deflected onto Davies hand - can't believe anyone (especially a Rangers fan) believed it was a penalty.

  30. Let's just ignore the two hands wrapped around Raskin. Scottish football refereeing summed up in one picture. It's either a goal or penalty to Rangers, yet somehow it ends up being a foul to Celtic.

  31. I thought Clement got the tactics spot-on. Alas! We didn't have the quality off the bench to get over the line.

  33. Bailey Rice being loaned back to Motherwell is being suggested. Seems like a good deal for all parties.

  34. Aye that's fair, although we've tried to force a change of the governance of the game in Scotland before and no one listened. Maybe if we were more dominant they'd listen.

  36. It's an old saying in some circles that the big clubs always seem to get the rub of the green and we now know or should know by now we aren't a big club any longer and until this is addressed by winning league's and cups it's going to stay that way it is now in the hands of the directors to see if it is possible to conjure up enough funds to let a manager buy players up to the job of being winners ,

  37. ......And Willie Collum will be in charge of Scottish referees and refereeing for the next 20 years or so. Let that sink in. Let the fact that (as I understand it) there will be no Scottish officials at the European Championships this Summer sink in, too. Ponder why one of Scotland's second -or third, or tenth (you choose)- rate officials is deemed worthy of preferment, of promotion to run refereeing: recruitment, training, development, and appointment to the top grades of officialdom. It, em, might make you think.

  38. Apart from Diomande, I wouldn't miss a single player. The main focus should be clearing out the likes of Tav, Goldson and Lundstram, as well as bringing in some more effective attackers.

  39. On the Raskin thing, seen it again and his hands are on the keepers back but he doesn’t push him imo. Big difference

  40. Cantwell too powderpuff, like Ryan Kent in my opinion. Take the money for him in the summer. Raskin a good wee player but always injured. Punt.

  43. We have been on the end of some poor decisions in the OF games this season. And it always seems to be the same referees: Collum, Clancy, Robertson & Walsh. There’s a connection between them in case you didn’t know
