I am very comfortable with this board with regards to doing the best for the club they can, I have no idea who should be paid what? but I am not worried anymore about money being stolen from the club! however it is important to remain vigilant after what we have been through, the difference is this board are Rangers fans with best interest of the club at heart and are proving it with the way we are progressing.

I don’t really expect us to catch Celtic this season but if we did the pain it would inflict on their support would be unbearable. It would make helicopter Sunday seem trivial.

Goss has been very good but I do think he needs a water carrier alongside him in a defensive sense. Jack or McCrorie would be ideal but Holt has done OK. I thought Docherty struggled a wee bit early doors yesterday but came onto a game as he relaxed a little.

Regards the OP, I don't think we'll see Davis or any of those who walked out returning. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers board have privately taken this decision. if so I can't say I disagree with them.

The shot was on target and the keeper failed to keep it from crossing the line. Same as any other shot a keeper gets a hand to - the scorer gets the credit. Windass scored imo.

I would be highly disappointed if Goss was removed - has been one of our brightest spots since we signed him. Offers much better vertical passing than anyone else in the team - is very composed and rarely does a pass go astray - is also much stronger than he looks. Indeed, at this point I would be doing all I could to convince the lad to come to Ibrox permanently, and opening talks with QPR immediately.

Just had a look, it definitely looks more like Ibrox than their dump. The “glass” section goes all the way up to the top of the stadium (as does Ibrox). Their stadium (bloody hell, I know why it is called the Meccanodome now) doesn’t really have that feature at all, and the weird wee section that does stick out is only half the height of the rest of the stadium. Again though, their stadium really is an ugly heap isn’t it!?

Usually a card display or something of that nature - something the European 'Ultras' do. I preferred it at the Piggery in '93, when we just had loads and loads of banners.

A more settled and effective defensive midfield pairing that includes Ryan Jack would probably leave the centre-backs less exposed. Docherty worked hard yesterday but undid some of that by losing possession to easily with misplaced passes.

Eleven goals in the last 180 minutes is an excellent return with various players scoring. In these types of games, I'd tend to forget the bad moments in defence and hope for more concentration come 'bigger games'. Good to see Morelos play an unselfish game with two assists, especially the pass to Murphy as the Columbian has always tended to shoot no matter how acute the angle. Now we have to back this up and beat a defensively sound Hearts at Ibrox. This is the type of test that Murty has to pass if he harbours hopes of staying in the job. So far this season we've only taken one point from 3 games at Ibrox against Edinburgh clubs, that has got to change.

I am nodding my head in agreement with you Bill and then I realised that this is 30 years we've had this issue. Thirty years! I dont think many will disagree either. Souness was an inspirational appointment, but I wonder if that type of impact is even possible to achieve these days. Maybe it's time for a quiet man like Murty to grow into the role, but whatever happens we need to build value in the club and that means building value in players and winning things. I don't see that happening with over thirties players.

It was Windass's shot completely miss-handled by the keeper so should be attributed to Windass,similar to that by Candeias a few games ago IMO.

I've always admired Steven Davis but I think if we are going to be the club we want to be then we need to stop turning to ex-players and older players. Experience doesn't need to mean over thirty. One thing that has characterised Rangers these last many years has been a failure of leadership in identifying good young playing talent or effective management throughout the club. Graeme Souness was probably the last truly inspiring appointment to the manager's office. Perhaps appointing Walter was also inspired but perhaps it was a cop out that got lucky. Advocaat was only really about money and everyone else was less than uplifting.

Going on loan can be a planned route to the first team, it isn’t usually a sign a player is unwanted.

The Italians have a knack -- a science as it turns out -- for prolonging the careers of players, from the above injury prevention to their specific roles on the pitch. It's always impressed me that a player that seems done elsewhere can go to an Italian side and play another 5 years, playing well and contributing to the team. Juventus' Barzagli looked finished at Wolfsburg, then goes on to play 8 season and counting in Italy, winning virtually everything. Totti went on longer than seems possible, and Buffon's hit 40 too! It's remarkable.

We need, as a club, a core of capable Scottish players, with an idea about what playing for Rangers means. He’s a defender that has proven he can defend , let’s keep him.

With so much focus on his age it's easy to forget this is someone who's played 21 games this season in the best league in the world (and 2 in the cup), 90 minutes in most of those, let's not exaggerate. If he's managing that at 33 it's reasonable to assume he can perform at a high level in Scotland for another couple of years. My concern is his position. We are pretty overloaded in there already really. Docherty, Jack and Dorrans all expect to be playing every game, not to mention McCrorie who many think should stay in midfield. James MacArthur is surely an optimistic target on a bosman for the summer too. As I've said I'd prefer to treat signings as investments, but imagine getting Davis for a nominal fee and McArthur and Arfield on bosmans in the summer, with Kranjcar, Miller, Halliday and Pena leaving.

I'm clearly in the minority here. If he's a free transfer and doesn't cost valuable resources, then fair enough but this is not (IMO) how we should be building up to a challenge for the league. He will be very unlikely to be able to perform in midfield beyond his current age. I understand the game is not as technical in Scotland, but it is just as quick and if his legs go he won't be able to perform every week. If we want to compete with Celtic we need players who are able to match the skill and work rate in every game. Davis would just use up valuable game time for our other younger players that we need to develop for the longer term challenge. I suspect Southampton's stats are showing that he can't keep up with the pace and hence why he's not playing as much. It's just a natural thing to happen for a midfielder. Of all the positions, it's the one which is affected most by age, and in particular the loss of speed and stamina. I always liked Davis and thought he's been terrific for Southampton, but I'm not convinced he's what we need now, for many of the same reasons as Naismith.
