  1. Ticket holders excluded from the recent cup-tie at Fraserburgh have received a refund and a letter of apology and explanation. The letter ends: ”I hope someday that you will be able to visit Bellslea Park and if you are ever in the area when are at home on Highland League duty, please let me know and we can arrange complimentary tickets for you.Once again, I would like to express my disappointment in what happened and hope that your team continues to rise to where it rightly belongs, challenging at the top of Scottish Football.Regards,Finlay NobleChairman" If there’s still honourable behaviour to be found in Scotland, it’s usually in the coastal and rural north-east. And the Borders, I suppose. And most of Ayrshire, good bits of Fife and South Lanarkshire and the northern Highlands. Almost everywhere really. It’s just that the dishonourable make more noise and pull the levers of publicity.

  2. They should just sort out the Champions league, to include ONLY the champions of all member countries. If there are more teams required, move to 2nd placed.

  4. Tonight before kick-off in St Petersburg, Richard Gordon summarised the collective opinion of the PQ Emerald CSC, "over bounding optimism". Ra Sellik were going to match up all over the pitch, go toe to toe with the Russians, and prevail. Paddy Bonnar, Scott McDonald, and Chris McLaughlin led, eulogising Brenda's tactical genius in playing the midfield diamond. Big Dick, Liam McLeod, and Stephen Thomson agreed, Dembele would again pin both St Petersburg's central defenders. The aftermath of a three zip thumping is akin to Napoleon's retreat from Moscow. Pat reckons ra Sellik bottled it. Scott is solemn, although that may be all about Dundee United's laughable attempt to win the Championship. Chris laments ra Sellik's lack of aggression. Oh well, let's hope the Cossacks harry them at every turn, and ra Sellik players end up eating their boots. Over bounding optimism will not fill their stomachs.

  5. What a brilliant response from Finlay Noble there. There's someone who knows how to do the right thing, but also turn a disappointment into a positive for his club. His supporters and everyone else at his club must be delighted to have someone like that in the chair. Nice one! I will make a point of going there when I'm next up in that neck of the woods, but I'll be sure to pay for a ticket and spend money there. That attitude deserves it.

  6. We should play them in a friendly as a gesture of goodwill as no doubt they'll be stung on this. When we were going through our difficulties in recent years some of the Highland League and ex-Highland League sides showed us friendship and welcomed us, we should never forget that. None of our neighbours showed us that.

  7. No retreat in Russia is complete without a burning of the colours at a river crossing. Expect to see the ashes of the green and the grey floating down the Neva before dawn.

  9. As a club and as a support we could generate some much-needed goodwill by responding in the right way to this gesture from Fraserburgh.

  15. Surely not Boabie? Last week was “great result” “the perfect game” “they vare in the driving seat”....We were informed all week! Despite the fact that any team losing 1-0 away in a first leg still considers themselves well in it. Ahhh the good old MSM.....

  16. It’s TV money and the clubs we’re looking at in the Atlantic League come from big cities and will be the major clubs of their own countries. This means advertising revenue, not of Champions League level but close to the individual leagues of the big nations (England and Spain aside). There’s no suggestion this is in place of CL just the new bread and butter set up of the smaller nations.

  17. I think broadcasters would be top dollar for Rangers v PSV and Rangers v Celtic in a bigger league, too. There’d also be Sporting Lisbon, Porto. It could be Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway. The advantage of having Norway and Denmark is the other countries could potentially displace their six.

  18. Yea I was meaning a discussion programme. There may be a timing problem but surely the difference would not be so big the presenters could talk around it. i certainly never felt anything talking and listening on Tuesday, Anyway lets get the first problems sorted out before tackling new ones that may never happen.

  19. Seems a reasonable idea to me but I reckon people would soon get fed up of games against such opposition as they are here. I much prefer Rangers staying in Scotland in terms of a week to week basis - though a well run British and Atlantic Cup might work.

  21. Spring is almost upon us and we will once again commence our restoration work on the next batch of final resting places. Over the last three years we’ve restored 31 plots of those who formed and built our club we’ve also tended to those of our fellow supporters. If you’d like to donate and assist the Restoration Project please do so via the link here on our website. https://www.thefounderstrail.co.uk/the-restoration-of-rangers-graves Every penny counts. Thank you.

  22. The problem with the split is that Scottish football is so unbalanced. Everyone want to play Rangers and Celtic at home for the increased gate money so the SPFL have to second guess who will be in the top 6 so that those in the bottom 6 have had 3 old firm home games. Some may be aggrieved that 2 out of their 3 were with Celtic and not the mighty but that’s tough. The 4 teams outside the old firm in the top 6 should then get their 2 home games against both Rangers and Celtic. The fixtures between the four of them should sort themselves out with hopefully 2 home games but if that’s not possible for everyone, I can’t see it really matters as it’s all about gate receipts and whether Kilmarnock have 1, 2 or 3 games against Hibs doesn’t really matter. If as a result of this set up we or Celtic have to play 5 away games then so be it. We will have played an equal number of home and away against the other top 6 clubs. If home advantage was all that it’s taken to be, we would have had an advantage in the earlier part of the season which would be reflected in our table position, but life is not that simple. We have won 6/13 at home and 10/14 away. Celtic have won 9/14 at home and 9/13 away Aberdeen have won 8/13 at home and 8/14 away Hibs have won 6/13 at home and 7/14 away Hearts have won 5/13 at home and 4/14 away Kilmarnock have won 5/13 at home and 4/12 away So let’s not get hung up on playing at home in the final fixtures. Take the view that whatever they may throw at us, we will prevail.

  26. I've never liked the split. I'd much prefer an 18 team league with only home and away matches but realise it's highly unlikely.

  28. We already had playing each other twice in an 18 team league. Nobody was interested in Rangers v bottom of the league. Nowadays they couldn't sell the match to tv. 4 games in a top 10 or 12 won't work either, simply because the rules say they have to show the odd match involving 6th against 8th and we end up with the 3 at home/away conundrum. In saying that, international football was formerly in the mix and we had short seasons. Now our national side couldn't beat the Maryhill Stanklifters so won't qualify for anything. TV want as many Rangers Celtic games as possible and really aren't caring about the rest. Given the diddies running our football here I've no doubt they'd make an erse of selling that as well.

  35. We have already seen testimony that hibs sought sporting advantage by covering up child abuse. Any club found guilty of such must have all trophys from then till now removed. Then they can rebuild from there.

  36. The criminal side of the Celtic BC child abuse is the responsibility for the police & relevant authorities. However the football side is for the SFA to investigate if there has been evidence of cover-ups at forthcoming court cases. At the very least they will have brought the game into disrepute. More seriously it will need to be determined whether the club gained any sporting advantage at the times of the offences by deliberately trying to conceal them. Maybe Regan didn't have the stomach for this hence his departure.
