  3. BBC Scotland's website carried a report on this womens old firm match on Sunday evening. They informed us that the Celtic Coach, Eddie Wolecki Black asked the Green Brigade to attend the East Kilbride ground. BBC Scotland further informed, "they brought considerable colour and noise" to the match. The sectarian and misogynistic abuse involving the Green Brigade is being prominently reported in the Daily Record, the Scottish Sun, the Herald, and Evening Times. BBC Scotland are so far failing to mention the story. Still, that's consistent because they failed to carry any mention of the Green Brigade's, 'Fe-nian Army' banner on Sunday.

  4. Thing is there's similar footage floating about of Rangers fans doing the exact same at Pittodrie. I wish people would realise there is no moral high ground on this issue it affects all wheelchair fans irrespective of what colour scarf they wear.

  5. He's the manager of Rangers, that means constant scrutiny and analysis followed by over the top levels of criticism or praise. Thats the gig, that's always been the gig. Gerrard's reaction to the Kilmarnock goal didn't concern me, that's been his reaction to most goals we've conceded. He's a much more thoughtful character than I thought. I'd assumed (wrongly) he was a heart-on-the-sleeve bubbly Scouser, but he's not, he's far more composed and steady. That doesn't mean he's not passionate, he just shows it differently. One concern I have with Gerrard is how he manages people who don't work as hard as he did. Gerrard was a perfectionist as a player, he was the boss in the Liverpool dressing room, and someone who decided if you made it or didn't make it at Liverpool. He'd very high standards and not everyone was able to meet them. I read the Lafferty article this morning and wondered why Gerrard was unable to manage him correctly. Now, let me be clear, I think Lafferty is a clown, he's a brainless waste of talent and someone who constantly displays poor judgement. But he can play football, and when managed correctly can be a highly effective member of a team. Micheal O'Neill has shown that, Craig Levein has shown that, Walter Smith showed that. We knew what we were getting with Lafferty when we signed him. There are still people at the club who remember him first time around, someone must have pointed out that he's not a good trainer, he'll have some sort of domestic implosion during the season and he'll skive off every chance he gets. But, he could win you a match when you need it. My concern for Gerrard isn't that he doesn't display enough emotion on the touchline, it's that he can't relate to journeymen SPFL footballers standard. That he doesn't understand how to motivate and manage a Lafferty, a Grezda or a Barasic. Gerrard, I believe, has very high standards, he expects high intensity training, 100% focus, total concentration. I expect most supporters are agree and think 'about bloody time too'. However, he's not coaching elite EFL, Champion's League quality players. Sometimes, at our level, you need to be able to do something with the shirkers, the lazy and the troubled too. For the record, Gerrard has shown himself to be a much better manager than I thought he'd be, and I remain confident for the season ahead. But if we're doing assessing, that's my observation.

  6. Frankie, I am aware of the situation. I believe Chris McLaughlin was aware of the situation too, before heading down to Kilmarnock to record a clearly spiteful interview. We know PQ will pick up any stick to beat Rangers and Rangers supporters, to exploit a domestic situation to get a firm grip on that stick ............................. ? As a Director of Killie, Phyllis McLeish deliberately waved bye bye to revenues of just under £300,000 by denying the Moffat Stand to Rangers supporters. They were applauded and encouraged to repackage, 'Sell Out Saturday' by PQ. Again, it has failed. I hope Rangers refuse to take extra tickets when Killie come back(and they will) after they look at their bottom line. They can pass the bucket at PQ to help Killie. We know by that time, PQ will have moved on to the next stick.

  8. Arsenal you say. I see Grezda is starting. Planning a swoop for the next big thing are they. Well the country should know that the player has never asked for a move. He is living the dream for a marvellous club and has loved every millisecond of it. And whatever Arsenal’s opening bid is they will have to quadruple it for the club to even consider it. And even then he should really be holding out for Man City.

  9. Most modern smart TV's you can just mirror it from your phone to your telly without a cast A cast is a sort cable with a round dongle(I think they call it). I paid 39 euro's for it. The one I have is from google and you need to download google home from the play store, I personally prefer just to switch the HDMI plug from my desktop monitor to the TV or I just watch it on my monitor.

  11. Do you really think that Barisic can improve because so far there has been evidence of that to date. When he receives the ball, if there is a defender in front of him his standard reaction is to pass inside to Niko or one of the midfielders. You very rarely see him taking a defender on or cutting inside. It may be just lack of confidence preventing the former but I have my doubts that this is the case. I feel he is very one footed and is probably weak on the right hand side and that partly explains why he is reluctant to cut inside. If we are to get the best out of Barisic offensively then he needs to receive the ball when he is ahead of the last defender and can cross the ball in; so far this has not happened. He does make runs down the wing that takes defenders away from the Rangers player who is wide and this at least helps create more space but is that enough to justify being our first choice at left back. Lastly, defensively he has been caught wanting on a few occasions and seems reluctant to physically dominate the opposing winger.

  13. Possibly not. AEK were poor but difficult to break down. But that was a balls up from them as you say and you can't count on those every year. And Lennon actually had a better record in Europe, he got to the last 16. Rodgers flopped in Europe. As much as we want to concentrate on ourselves if they qualify for the groups it's a huge blow.

  14. In my student days, I lived next door to a chap from Harris. He cooked Guga on occasion, a distinctive nauseating aroma enveloped the entire building for days. We know why the wind blows on the western isles, it's a necessity.

  16. My thoughts exactly. It's impossible to judge Lowe from displays against us but he's not exactly that dissimilar to Barisic, prefers to play as a winger and not the strongest defensively. In terms of Barisic, I like the idea of him more than what is often the reality. He's fast and wants to get to the byline and is an excellent crosser but my word he looks nervous on the ball. Always played the boring, safe pass backwards at Killie and most of pre-season. Starting to worry me now because I was optimistic on him and expected to see a rejuvenated player after pre-season. The raw ingredients of a good player seem to be there but time is running out for him to find some confidence.

  17. I noted one particular point from his statement ... "my performances in training and in games are night and day". This suggests that (like many other lazy players) he knew his training performances were lazy or poor, but expected the manager to play him on the promise that he'd do better in games. I've never liked Lafferty and I'm so glad he's gone, along with that poor attitude of his.

  20. Harry Maguire confirmed for 80m to Man Utd. I dont rate him that much, I think he is half decent but not a world record defender. Gary Cahill goes to Crystal Palace on a free - decent signing for them.

  23. There were several instances of fans entering the field of play whilst celebrating goals in 2018/19. Very little was made of them. Does anyone else thing the rest of Scottish football is getting a bit edgy about a resurgent Rangers? In the words of Willie D, "F*ck 'em!".

  29. I like Lafferty if he can screw the nut. We clearly thought he'd turned a corner but he admits in the interview he let himself down and some of the other stupidity he got up to when he re-signed is why he is gone.

  30. Ultimately, what happened on Sunday is going to cost Killie (and the spiteful Phyllis McLeish) a lot more than it will us. Their licence will be in jeopardy given the life-threatening scenes and they will have to pay to bring their ground up to a decent standard. I'm sure Ms McLeish can use her divorce settlement to pay for it to help her dodgy drink-driving reputation. Meanwhile her former husband and former owner of Killie's main sponsor can perhaps spend his £80m from that sale on the club he actually supports. Wonder what stand he was sitting in on Sunday?

  31. Interestingly, I believe she and Alan (a big bear) are divorcing and that her anti-social indiscretion cost her the chairmanship at Killie. I can't see QTS being around much longer as sponsor, do you?

  33. Looking at our opponents and potential opponents last seasons European results; The Danes (I’m not attempting to spell that every time!) entered the same competition in QR3 last year and comfortably saw off Welsh side New Saints 2-0 in Wales and 3-1 at home for a 5-1 aggregate victory. In QR4 they played Malmo and drew 2-2 in Sweden before losing the home tie 2-0 to lose out on group stage action. This will be their first European action this season. Legia started 18/19 in the Champions League qualifiers in QR1against Cork, winning 1-0 away and 3-0 at home, then going on to play Slovakian side Spartak Trnava, losing the home leg 2-0, winning the away leg 1-0 to go out 2-1 on aggregate and drop down into the Europa where they played Dudelange from Luxembourg, losing the home leg 2-1and drawing the away leg 2-2 to go out 4-3 on aggregate. Worth noting they got red cards in both legs of that tie. This season they started in QR1 beating Europa of Gibraltar 3-0 at home after a 0-0 first leg on the rock. In R2 they beat KuPS 1-0 at home and drew 0-0 away. Atrimitos played QR3 of Europa League last year where they lost to Dinimo Brest of Belarus 4-3 in the away leg, and drew 1-1 at home to be eliminated at the first time of asking, picking up a red card as well along the way. This season they started in R2, beating Slovak side Streda 2-1 away and 3-2 at home.

  37. FWIW, I have serious doubts over Barisic but would give him until January now. Let's keep him in the team and ensure a serious run of games to see what he can do. No more excuses if he doesn't perform in this period. I don't see the point of bringing in Max Lowe instead unless a deal is done for Barisic and/or Halliday/Flanagan first. The squad is far too big and we need to be moving folk on before we add to it. I'm sure lads like Holt, Grezda and Dodoo will move on soon enough but another quality attacking player should be our priority as it stands.
