  1. A major gripe for me is our willingness to settle on a 1-0 scoreline. We keep doing it. 1-0 and we're happy to drift along. It's not good enough. We don't have good enough defensive players to do it, for starters. Secondly, we don't convert enough chances of our own to do it. Our main rivals are humping other teams regularly, so why can't we do it? Even if we can't, why are we happy to sit on a 1 goal margin?

  2. The bottom line tonight, despite more horrific refereeing, is we are not good enough to win the league. How you can wait 81 minutes of that to change it baffles me. I don't want Gerrard out by any stretch of the imagination but I wish he would utilise the bench more and earlier. One of his main failings I would say

  4. Boooring. Why are you focusing on all that trivia?! The pertinent facts are as follows: 1. Played for Rangers 2. Managed Rangers 3. Regular appearances on the television If that doesn't qualify him for 60+ pages of speculation, for any role at the club, then I don't know what does.

  5. Kent did nothing. Morelos did nothing. The referee saw nothing. The league is over now.

  7. I'll forever be grateful for what Souness did for Rangers and I'm happy for him to be involved with us but I'd be concerned if he got a place on the board or any executive position. Souness has regularly displayed poor judgement and pig-headedness. That stubborn streak that made him a great player doesn't serve him well in other areas of life. He's an entertaining pundit, personally I hope he sticks to that.

  8. Too late for the club to make any accusations I'm afraid! it will only look like greeting about being beat!. Rangers should have went after Clancy after the match v Separate Entity FC

  9. posting shite is not an opinion though!. Tell me, sack SG and who would you replace him with? get a grip!!, take your anger out on the players for letting SG down instead of wetting your pants over the manager, IMO.

  10. Oh come on now! That same rookie got us in to the last 32 of the Europa. And an away win at Parkhead.

  12. The manager has to start utilising his bench. Changes were needed about half an hour earlier. Kent, Aribo and Hagi away to Killie? He really does need a plan B.

  13. We were losing a grip on the game second half & he didn’t do anything. Aribo & Hagi were anonymous and should have been replaced earlier. Why does he always leave it too late to change anything

  15. I don't think he is in danger of being sacked. No matter what, he will get next year too (unless we were to fall off a cliff?). However, I actually understand the broader issue in that something isn't right imo? Maybe things are being said behind the scenes re the general landscape, and obstacles that the club and playing staff are facing? The statements and the abuse of Alfredo may be affecting them (that was the intention after all). SG has just called the team "mentally weak" and questioned their "bottle" live on TV. All is not well and I worry more that SG will walk than I do him being sacked?

  16. He could've earned a second yellow, also for diving. As you say, he just isn't very good at it. He has looked out of sorts in 2020.

  18. League is now over. Players simply not good enough. However, Beaton MUST now be taken to task by the club. He is an absolute cheat - no other word/term to describe him now. He doesn't even hide it now as he knows no one will pull him up. Dicker should have been red-carded. Equaliser was as clear a hand-ball since the last one he missed at Piggery. Alfredos goal chipped off for nothing. However we'll have more dignified silence instead of demanding Beaton being sacked. Roll on next season...

  19. We've seen this movie too often at Rugby Park. We were not strong enough in that second half and Kilmarnock always looked likely to score. Their second goal was very weak defending from Katic and Goldson.

  22. What skills do people think Souness has? He's an ex footballer, so he has insights into the game, but he stopped playing over 30 years ago now and hasn't managed for close to 15 years so how current those insights are would need assessed. I'd have thought our Director of Football and a large and expensive backroom staff could provide all the football insights our board need though. From what I can see he has no business acumen to speak of and has made a number decisions over the years that certainly make me question his judgement. His relationship with Willy Mckay should automatically exclude him from any decision making at our club. Souness was the right man to come to the club in the mid 1980s, lift our profile, set higher standards and provide the impetus for growth and success. I'll always be grateful to him for doing that. But that doesn't get him a job at the club now, particularly one he's not qualified to carry out.

  23. My own reply was an opinion not fact There is a fairly big share issue coming up, do I think Souness could be involved and open up a return in some form ? Yes it’s possible But beyond that I can’t really clarify anything else

  28. Agree with this, the points we have dropped away from home and from winning positions. Aberdeen 2 up, 2:2 Hearts 1 up, 2:1 defeat Killie 1 up, 2:1 defeat If we win they games, from a winning position, we would much closer.....frustrating to say the least.

  37. Why do our youngsters always look so physically under-developed? Some of these young English lads that I see coming through are built like a Brick Shithouse. It's no reflection of talent or technique, but it is a big part of the game; and perhaps one of the things that keeps them from making the step up to the first team earlier.

  38. I can't help but feel that getting cuffed by Athletico Madrid is much better preparation for our young players than horsing Thistle in the Glasgow Cup. The harder the matches these boys play the better, it shouldn't be about winning leagues or even matches at that level, but improving them as players.

  41. Communication - say what you mean, mean what you say? I note the BBC headline this morning, 'Four men arrested in Lyra McKee murder'. In April last year, journalist Lyra McKee, 29, was shot while observing rioting in Derry's Creggan estate. The IRA admitted carrying out the murder, four men aged 20, 27, 29, and 52 were arrested this morning under the Terrorism Act. We can flesh this out, a line of Police containg the riot were being pelted with stones and bottles. Over the duration of several hours, in excess of 50 petrol bombs were hurled at the PSNI. A gap opened in the rioters and a balaclava clad gunmen stepped forward, kneeled, and fired seven rounds from a handgun. Lyra McKee was standing to the side of the police line, partially protected by an armoured landrover, she was hit in the eye by one of the last rounds fired. Again, this thread has several mentions of Lyra McKee's murder because several of the usual suspects within PQ found the events awkward and inconvenient. Angela Haggerty was adamant that Soldier F should be prosecuted, when Lyra McKee's murder was raised, she replied the IRA are defunct and were protected by the Good Friday agreement. Her co-founder of 'Call it Out', Jeanette Findlay held the same view. Ironically, Jeanette in her designation as a Senior Lecturer at Glasgow University had been the target of an IRA postal bomb three months previously. McKee's murder was running interference on the PQ preferred line of prosecution of soldiers. As alluded to in earlier posts, DrStu' is the Grand Doyen and he has a habit of coming up with something to say. He would be better just admitting he does not have the answer, perhaps he likes the sound of his own voice? BBC Radio Scotland is his snowy linen canvas and he paints the picture. During the Media Review in late May, he settled the issue with, "Lyra McKee died in crossfire". The definition of Crossfire is fire emanating from two or more directions, passing through the same area. As the only shots came from the lone IRA gunman, then it appears DrStu' lied because it was most convenient. On the same show, DR Eammon O'Neill added, "Lyra McKee was not targeted" and Shona Craven of the National was at pains for McKee's death not to be classified as murder, "we need a new classification". At Lyra's funeral, the Priest, Father Magill conducting began by asking, "why has it taken the murder of a 29 year old girl ..... "? Today's arrests prove how important language is in defining terms. How can one be charged with murder if we deny it occurred? This Thursday, the media review will be defined by Sinn Fein's electoral gains in the Republic of Ireland. Both DrStu' and O'Neill will use specific language, urging Scotland to be on the right side of history. Denying a section of ra Sellik supporters indulged in racism despite two arrests, denying Lyra McKee's murder despite four arrests, means we have to examine DrStu's language. His communication skills are beginning to appear most similar to Phil McFournames.
