Can't believe some of the stuff I've seen from grown men not getting their football tops ?5 points

At a club level, Rangers have amassed 18.0 coefficient points, Celtic have chipped in 16.5, Aberdeen 3.5 and Kilmarnock 1, giving Scottish club an average coefficient of 9.750. To put the achievements of Scottish clubs into context, Liverpool amassed 18 coefficient points with Real Madrid contributing 17. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/18622952.remarkable-coefficient-stat-no-one-talking/3 points

Can Defoe play a full season? Doesn’t look like it to me. And when Defoe does play hopefully our manager doesn’t play him up front on his own,a role he’s not suited to in my opinion3 points

Would agree entirely with Tsb. I braced myself before hand by finger hovering over the mute button ready for the usual string of pysh from the Sky Rangers haters. Really pleased they have ditched that supercilious tw*t Commons. Like you I thought Fletcher was a breath of fresh air, no agenda and a really good analyst as well. Great to see two ex Rangers as well in Boyd & McCoist. Best of all, however, no Andy (the tramp) Walker on co-commentary. Hopefully no more of his "impartial" commentary on all things Rangers!3 points

3 goals actually but this is after 1 game of a long campaign. A wee bit of an overreaction me thinks3 points

Just watched the Sky highlights there and it reminded me what a delight it was to have Super on comms alongside Crocker. I thought Crocker wasn’t his usual venomous self, perhaps as a result of having the legend beside him and not a twisted hateful scumbag? Good move by Sky for our games, I might not need to mute all our games that I can’t get in to watch! Also, and it might be because I watched the game in a busy bar, but I didn’t hear the dreadful fake crowd noise much. I hope that continues also. Good analysis as well from Fletcher & Boyd, fair and honest, not trying to be controversial, just giving proper analysis on the game. Such an improvement on the amateur pish provided by BT last year(s) with messrs Craigan Sutton Hartson etc all trying to be more anti-Rangers than the next.3 points

Some who can get 20 league goals will do for me. Once fit again Defoe will score goals. Let's not forget he scored more league goals than Alfie last year from far less game time2 points

Unless we get a striker from somewhere capable of scoring 30plus goals this season will be over sooner than we think2 points

Ten years ago this week a Rangers youth side took on Blackburn Rovers. I don't always get the opposition lineup but on this occasion I did. Thought I look back to see where the players from both sides are today. https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2020/08/02/rangers-v-blackburn-10-years-on/2 points

then its about time they tried to teach their side how to shoot2 points

Kent for me. Jack and Kamara are the two reasons we won't win the league. Very average players with no guts. We need Ian Ferguson, Stuart McCall or John Brown in those positions.2 points

If we go looking for problems, there’s a fair chance we’ll find them. This is the best definition of making mountains out of molehills that I’ve seen in a long time.2 points

Can anyone explain why we so often sit on a 1-0 lead against poor teams? Yesterday we looked content with our lead against one of the worst Aberdeen teams I have ever seen - why didn't we keep going at them? We often struggle up there, so I am happy with the three points but the manner in which we gained those points leaves me thinking our mentality is still the same and we will needlessly drop points against lesser opponents when victories could easily be obtained.1 point

Who's your MotM vs Aberdeen. I thought we were quite rusty overall, but a few players showed up well, like Kent, Aribo and Jack. For me, Balogun gets it. Absolutely strolled it. Read everything, cleared everything in the air, and those runs to take men out the game will be very effective going forward.1 point

I find it hard to believe either Davis or Defoe will justify their wages this season. Gerrard needs to be very sure that their wages couldn’t produce a better return elsewhere.1 point

Peter told him he wouldn't need one.1 point

We played Aberdeen away. They played Hamilton at home. We certainly have problems still to be solved but they won't be defined by what happened this weekend.1 point

My concerns are based on the entire period of Gerrard's tenure - not one match. We have won no trophies and they have won the lot.1 point

A long arduous campaign, where we have to win every match. I still don't get it. The yahoos go for the kill but we sit on slender leads - to keep our powder dry? They are already four goals ahead of us.1 point

Well, Ian Ferguson or Stuart McCall maybe. Your other suggestion must have been humour.1 point

Weird times, but I thought we handled the match well. The goal was lovely, Hagi, Morelos and Kent all combining well. 1 - 0 against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, can't really complain about that!1 point

I wasn't quoting you? What I was saying and what I have seen on many forums, not just here are a lot of fans complaining that they never got their tops yesterday. I understand if you have a young child waiting they may be disappointed but for grown adults to moan about waiting a few days longer is laughable IMO.1 point

I think the problem in this game was that most of the players had a sound game without any particular individual standing out. It was Balogun's first game, he settled in well and looked composed and therefore one could argue a case for him being man of the match. However, in response one could argue that since Aberdeen's attack was dire, particularly in the first half, he wasn't put under any pressure and therefore it is difficult to assess his ability, but first signs are positive. Tav, Goldson and Borna did fine but nothing spectacular. Kent scored a fine goal but other than that he just had a reasonable game, Morelos made some good layoffs but never looked like like scoring, Aribo again showed his class but perhaps was a bit quiet compared to how he performed in the pre-season friendlies. Jack and Kamara were quietly efficient, breaking up play and being the anchors in the team. One issue with playing both Jack and Kamara is that neither strikes you with their capability to go forward with purpose and take the game to the opposition, that is, they tend to be more reactive than proactive. It would be good to sign a player that could complement either Jack or Kamara rather than someone who plays the game similarly to them.1 point

Our current manager & assistant were not too shabby shooting from outside the box!1 point

Barker did well in the pre season games when he came on, he was running at defences, and even having a crack at goal ,i think he's a player that suffers a bit from the weight of expectation from the support. So ideal given the current situation.1 point

One swallow ... and all that. Let's see what happens in the next games.1 point

Never knew there was an official change. I just thought “blues” and “pensioners” went in tandem like Everton “blues” and “toffees”. Good match. Evened up when Pulisic went off then Chelsea started to defend like Arsenal. The second yellow for the sending off was undeserved.1 point

I'd like to apologise to @blueflag. The mates who claimed their shirts arrived yesterday were 'at it'. Shirts were dispatched yesterday but had not arrived.1 point

I Remember Dundee playing Millwall at Dens around that time and there was a shitload of trouble afterwards but if yer man there’s got Dens n Ibrox confused I cannae help him!1 point

Well that was our first competitive match in the premier league behind closed doors maybe apart from those two blokes on the cherry picker so did you think it had any effect on team or individual performance yesterday. We might have to go the season like this if this horrid virus doesn't come under control.1 point

Regardless of how trivial it may seem to some people, if Castore have made promises that they haven't kept, then that's not a good start.1 point

Millwall are a club with Scottish origins. They’re named after Millwall on the Isle of Dogs where they started out but have since moved to South London. Their strip is/was the blue and white of the saltire and their badge the Scottish lion1 point

Can you remember the game against I think it was Motherwell , we made a substitution late in the game and ended up losing a goal , the online support went nuts . I am only in favour of subs if we are , chasing the game , need to replace an injured or knackered player or have to change because we are really losing our way , not when we are strolling a game but only winning 1 nil , it’s nuts the reaction to today , a bit like the reaction to a strip not arriving prior to 9 am and the delivery guy didn’t make the breakfast as well .1 point

SG made the one change that was necessary. Bringing on Arfield was the right move at right time. No point in making changes for changes sake.1 point

Thankyou... that does for me. Looney, didn't know I was a Rangers fan until after this crazy story when i pulled my wallet out. We live among them.1 point
-
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen people saying they were annoyed we didn’t use more subs... im confused though.... you say you’re annoyed we didn’t use more subs but then say we were comfortable. Surely if we are comfortable there isn’t a great need to use subs ? The use of subs can have a negative impact rather than positive - so if we were comfortable why change something that is already working ? as someone said, McGregor had a very quiet day - so why change the personnel if our keeper isn’t being troubled and we are already 1-0 up ?1 point

I’d be absolutely certain that SG couldn’t give two shits for the scenario you painted if the player in question was performing better than everyone else each week. Loyalty in football is pretty much dead. Has been for years.1 point
