  1. I've just listened to the podcast. Thanks to Stevie for carrying it out, but, for me, it raises more questions than it answers. 1. How will C1872 having 25% prevent the events of 2012 as was claimed by Laura? I don’t see how it would prevent any such events. It wouldn’t have prevented Murray selling to Whyte and I don’t see how it would have prevented any of Whyte’s actions. 2. How would Dave King have prevented Murray giving “the clubs’ shares” as security if he’d known about it? Murray didn’t give the shares as security, but that’s not overly relevant, but the club needed funding and there was a floating charge, so I’m not sure what King would have done. 3. Given the above 2 questions, is the phrase “never again” meaningless? 4. When Laura says that directors of C1872 have no more power than the ordinary members, is that true? 3 directors have proposed this scheme. 3 members could not propose it or propose an alternative scheme. We are not getting a vote on it so the claim that the organisation is “member led” is also not true. 5. C1872 had the option of taking part in the clubs’ share issues as confirmed by Laura so why didn’t they want to take part in them and attempt to raise funds for them? Why has Dave King taken the priority? 6. Did C1872 deliberately wait until they understood that the club was not going to have any more share issues before deciding to go ahead with this fund raising exercise, given that they had offers to take part in the previous share issues? 7. Is Dave King breaking confidences and potentially affecting the price of shares by stating that any future share issues will be above 20p? 8. Is Dave King privy to the minutes of any board meetings since the last one he chaired in March? Given the Covid 19 crisis, the new funding issues and the lack of player sales not drastically changed the landscape and the funding of the club? 9. Is it C1872 policy that they would prefer the club to sell players to provide funding rather than C1872 buy new shares, as Laura suggests? Is it disingenuous to suggest that the club does no need funding, when it clearly does, especially when King says that he expects his £5m plus interest to be repaid in 10 months’ time. 10. When Laura says that the fans need to step up and take responsibility, why have C1872 not been encouraging participation in the share issues? Is there not a contradiction? 11. If Laura claims that buying shares is not a key decision then is refusing to buy shares in the club not a key decision? 12. Both King and Laura claim that the accounts are healthy when they show that the club continues to need investor support to meet its liabilities. Would they not accept that they are misleading fans in overstating the strength of the balance sheet? 13. Why are C1872 ignoring their own constitution by not bring a potential £13m investment to the members to vote on? Is a £13m outflow not a “decision relating to a matter which would have a material effect on the assets of the Company” What level of outflow does Laura feel is material? 14. Has there ever been an AGM of C1872?

  4. Right, let's be honest here, we've absolutely dominated a very very very good EL Group, including a team that we're quarter finalists in the CL. Unbeaten, 4 wins, 2 draws and no team will look forward to drawing us in next round, that's for sure. Amazing achievement, well done to players and management team

  5. One thing is clear is that every player, as a squad are being well coached and they all buy into what SG & his staff are doing, excellent

  6. Delighted with that tonight. Thought we started rather slowly but grew into the game and went onto dominate as we usually do in most matches this season. A well deserved first place in the group and this team continues to impress and pass all tests. Lots of good individual performances but, again, it was all about the team as a whole doing their job, including the subs, to give us the platform to win that game. Glen Kamara an absolute star though so deserves to be singed put, as does Itten who really impressed given the service.

  10. Possibly our best performance in the EL group. Controlled the game throughout. Zungu looks a real find. Covers ground well, strong in the tackle & has excellent distribution.

  13. I quite like the look of Zungu: reads the game well, good on the ball and has good strength and pace. Nothing fancy, but effective.

  17. Have we ever finished top of a group? I might be wrong but I think this would be another first for the club and quite a milestone.

  19. Got a proper listen to this yesterday and only getting time to comment now I seem to have more time for stuff like this at work instead of when I'm on holiday like this week! First of all, I thought Stevie and Chris did a fine job of the questions and I also felt Dave King and Laura did a decent effort at batting these back openly enough. However, there are some gaps that when we consider the sums involved and the responsibilities therein need filled in. I've asked Laura if we can do that via the Gersnet pod in mid-late January. That's a few weeks away but it lets us consume all the existing media on the news and get the festivities out the road before revisiting the subject. It also gives Club 1872 time to take on board all the feedback and think about how best to answer the various questions that certainly have a lot of merit.

  20. I got as far as this on page one of this thread. As far as Bill is concerned I know the rest of the script. I'll tell you what an utterly dishonest premise is......It's Bill's take, tone and attitude towards different cases of (alleged) racism. Repeatedly using the (alleged) racism card for political ends/attempted point scoring is fine by him when it involves what is termed as anti-semitism but as we've seen on countless occasions, when it's allegations, campaigns or general discourse about a different racism / colour..... he passionately argues against such principles. It´s a blatant contradiction that should be borne in mind and very much pointed out when someone always has so much to say on race issues. ---------- Regards the thread title..... Players and clubs should be free to do as they see fit. WRT to gesture/campaign, my own take would be to set goals, change things up to retain attention, focus on results and not a routine. Generally and IMO, campaigns on racism (and many other things for that matter) don't achieve what they set out to because of overly ambitious parameters/demands relative to timescale. For example, BLM (USA) should have focused on policing until the point where real fundamental change for the better was instigated. They have a solid and well documentated case.

  23. Totally agree with this sentiment published today; "To make booing BLM a punishable offence would be to place movements of various kinds above disagreement, criticism and scrutiny. This is wrong, and must be fought against. Freedom of expression must be preserved, for fans as well as for players".

  25. So many positives. Patterson, Zungu, Hagi and Itten were more or less coming in from the cold tonight and you couldn’t tell. They were all very good. It’s hard to believe how well things are going for us just now.

  27. I agree to an extent but I also think a strength of this side is when to expend energy to lift the tempo and when not to. FWIW, I was more annoyed we didn't press so much when they were down to ten men for the better part of 7 or 8 mins.

  28. Thought we started a bit complacently. Itten has given the gaffer food for thought.

  30. No, it isn't. You just don't get it or don't want to get it. It's clear For example, the heavy politicising of anti-racism protests for other gains/advantage. He was passionately against such a thing on one type of anti-racism thread but spent a year or so, doing exactly that within a different type of anti-racism. The opinion part is his belief but what I refer to is the blatant contradiction. in the application of said principle, based on race. To strongly and loudly preach against something whilst practicing it yourself is to damage any credibility you have to do the preaching. It can make you look a bit of a fool or in this particular thread, it helps show Bill up for what he is.

  31. I remember that well, the group included a trip to Livorno in the school October week so I could take my son to his first away Euro tie, aged 10, and got the most soaked I have even been at a football match amidst a real downpour that lasted the whole match and made the recent game in Liege look like a mere trickle.

  34. I think it’s a good platform for a first interview and there is plenty of follow up or additional ones to ask But if talking to the fans isn’t the platform then what would be? Surely we can’t say they aren’t giving answers or being truthful when they have had extensive media interviews for the last week? However it is what it is, natural people are suspicious Hopefully follow up interviews bring even more clarity on this platform
