Played a European semi and final without a recognised striker. We managed a way to defeat Leipzig over two legs without Roofe of Alfredo, tonight was one step too far.

There's definitely a calmness about GvB that has started to rub off on this team. I think it was often mistaken for uncertainty when he first arrived but it seems to me that the real contrast with Gerrard is that GvB has transferred a much greater degree of leadership from the dugout to the field of play.

I thought GVB made some poor decisions but not going to get into that tonight. Very fine margins. A ridiculous missed chance/save at the death and then Kamada’s penalty in off the post. Penalties in general. Really gutting to lose like that.

Exactly what I thought too. Anyway, no hard feelings with Ramsey, it could have happened to any of them. We just didn't play well enough on the night, but doesn't take anything away from this teams achievement and gives us confidence for next season.

Ramsey should have played at least 45 mins +. We produced nothing but bare-bone long-ball stuff. With Sakala we became more direct, Roofe took about 30 secs to create a chance. On hindsight, Ramsey should have played every match he can until he falls over. We have no-one with any sort of touch and vision (well, the latter you will find in Lowry) like him in the attacking half of the field. IMHO, we gave a just above-average side far too much respect and never changed those he effectively brought little early enough, namely Kamara and Aribo. Let`s horse Hearts at the weekend, grab the cup and prepare for next season`s CL campaign.

Devastated - so much to pick the bones out of, but tonight is not the time. Proud of the players, can't underestimate the achievement of getting to the final but that was probably out best ever opportunity to win a major European Tourniment.

I don't actually think that players who are not on the pitch at the end of 90 minutes should be allowed to take a penalty. I'm not that bothered about losing on penalties, it is not a good way to win a trophy, one that would always need an asterix against it.

There's no doubt now that he was an upgrade on SG; his tactical nous is far superior. He found it more difficult to win domestically because of the way teams park the bus but I have confidence that he can reclaim the league next season.

Rab , I can see where your coming from regards Ramsey , however I'm at the other end of the spectrum , I don't see him as doing anything for us , he's very slow , he can't track runners and he's there on past reputation as far as I can see , we need every players on it tomorrow night .

And, controversially maybe, I’d start with Ramsey. I just think we have to hope his quality could be the difference on the night if he’s fit. And McGregor’s indifferent form is in the past for rest of this season
