  1. Rangers will be without first-choice goalkeeper Allan McGregor for the final Old Firm derby of the season on Sunday, live on Sky Sports. The former Scotland number one will have to sit out the Ibrox clash with Neil Lennon's Celtic after he was sent off for kicking out at Hibernian striker Marc McNulty last weekend. Fringe men Kyle Lafferty, Lee Wallace and Eros Grezda are also ruled out with knocks as they join Gareth McAuley, Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy (both knee) on the absentee list. Since the two sides last met in a fiery encounter at the end of March, Rangers have won all five of their Scottish Premiership games and manager Steven Gerrard says the game still has meaning despite final positions already being confirmed. "All the players are aware it is a big game for the supporters with the rivalry and all the history which has gone before," he said. "After the last Old Firm, which we played really in and felt as if we should have taken something from, we have stressed the importance of trying to finish the season as strongly as we can and really focus on this season." Celtic clinched their eighth successive Scottish Premiership title last week with a 3-0 win at Aberdeen, and interim manager Neil Lennon has claimed Rangers have a "huge disciplinary problem" ahead of Sunday's game. He said: "It's not my problem that they have a huge disciplinary problem and if it manifests itself again on Sunday then we will try to take advantage. "Scott Brown is always important. It is a big game and he is a big game player. It is very easy to say Scott Brown will be playing on Sunday. We are the champions and we have to play and act like champions." Lennon will assess a number of his Celtic squad ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash. Kieran Tierney will have an operation on a double hernia at the end of the domestic season and the Hoops interim boss will decide how many of the final three games of the campaign he will play. Ryan Christie (face), Jack Hendry, Vakoun Bayo, Dedryck Boyata (all hamstring), Craig Gordon, Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani (all knee) are out, while Leigh Griffiths is back training after dealing with personal issues but has no chance of featuring at Ibrox. https://www.skysports.com/football/rangers-vs-celtic/preview/406781

  2. Just watching the second goal again, watch it from 62:32 on Sky clock, loose ball on halfway line comes to Broon, who under pressure gets his simple 3 yard pass intercepted by Arfield who plays a simple 5 yard square pass to Kamara, who plays a neat 1-2 with Kent, sells a dummy to Burke and plays a 1-2 with Flanagan, he feels Broon coming in and feigns to go one way and goes the other leaving the most overrated player in Scottish football history for dead, drives forward with Broon still wondering where he went, and plays a ball into feet for Defoe who has the new Caesar tight on him, so Defoe (I’m guessing after a shout from Arfield) let’s it run through his legs and into the box where Arfield runs past the despairing wonder kid Ajer and coolly slots it in the corner to seal the win. A simply stunning goal.

  5. We've just strolled to victory against Celtic. Lets talk about football.

  6. Excellent victory with no failures in the team. We didn't let them into the game and Foderinghm might a well have brought a book to read. I'm left thinking we missed a really good chance this season but that is past and we can look forward with some justified optimism.

  7. That's twice we've dominated them for almost the entire game. Delighted of course, but you do wonder how close we'd have been to winning the league this season if we hadn't lost stupid points. Arfield was excellent, but Kamara is strolling throughout these games. I hope we can hold on to him for next season but any team watching him from down south must be interested. He is an unbelievable player. He will prove to be signing of the season without a doubt.

  9. When exactly was it that everyone became so thin skinned and sanctimonious? Because I must have missed that particular memo. If the beggars are outraged then we must be doing something right.

  10. A very pleasing afternoon. Just wonder what might have been if SG had got Defoe last summer.

  11. If only we could beat Hibs, motherwell and Aberdeen so comfortably we would have been champions.

  12. I Thought Davis brought a lot of composure to the midfield, Jack and Kamara were faultless and Arfield was given the freedom to make his blindside runsto great effect, his performance was a definite MoM for me. Back four were solid and tbh the whole team bossed this game but i still get the feeling that but for dropping needless points we should be champions. Next season can't come quick enough for 55.

  13. Since they were so thoroughly outplayed all the focus will be on Flanagan giving broonaldo a well earned dunt in the dish. Apparently they can't beat us when we have 11 on the field.

  14. Meh--I feel we can do better. He's been good, but that end product is not there, for me.

  16. [HT] Rangers 1 - 0 *mumbles*. Excellent half from us. Solid, organised, and well up for the fight. We let there CBs have the ball, and kept a high/mid block. Foderingham was never troubled. I would like to see more from our breaks. We've been wasteful at times, through bad balls and over-hit passes.

  17. Arfield is giving Brown a taste of his own medicine. Wonderful.

  18. There is a plan B, only it’s so similar to plan A that making the distinction would only unnecessarily confused the average footballer ?

  19. Yeh, the MSM are all over it when the sheep and the scum sing about it, aren’t they.................? Incidentally, I find it distasteful too but, it’s the hypocrisy and selectarianism” that has the usual jaundice.

  20. Would you be saying that if there were opposition fans singing about the Ibrox disaster? Stick to football ffs. This stuff is distasteful

  23. I had to watch the game on Celtic TV today (long story!). I was expecting it to be strongly biased like Sky Sports or the BBC, but their commentary was actually really good. At that incident with Flanagan, their commentators agreed that it was just a coming together of two tough players and that Flanagan shouldn't have been booked. Their overall analysis was that Celtic just don't have the players to break Rangers down and that they'll have to spend big money in the summer. They picked out Davis, Arfield and Goldson as the anchors in the Rangers team, and said that they just don't have players to compete with them. They also suggested that Lennon looked like a guy "that knows he won't be here next season after this result". Unfortunately I think they're right there.

  24. Their fucking useless centre forward. 9 million well spent there.

  25. We weren't that great today. Celtc are crap.

  26. Why? Six goals and four assists is hardly setting the heather on fire. What is it that he actually does to warrant the acclaim that he receives. I just don't see it.

  27. I know that. But similar "seen" incidents did not thwart the CO to take action. As we had with McGregor's first ban ... Can`t remember just now whether McGregor was booked, but "unseen and not booked" was the thing which brought the CO on the table. With her shadowy court in place and virtually no transparency, they can make up rules as they go along.

  28. And Defoe is still numero uno in terms of goals per minutes played with a goal every 117 minutes with Alfie second best in the league in that respect with a goal every 125 minutes. Throw in the fact we're the highest scoring team in the league and it's beginning to look very good indeed. And incidentally despite all the talk about them having played badly in recent months that's still the first time they have been beaten since we last beat them.

  30. What a stifling midfield - Jack, Kamara, Davis and MOM Arfield. Normal service is being resumed. GOH don't make me laugh.

  31. Yep. Too many draws. Momentum building with the gaffer though. Encouraging signs

  32. I think there is more to come from Ryan Kent. He's only 22 and not really had a settled career to date after numerous loan spells. I would see if we could get on a permanent if we can negotiate a good price.

  33. They've replayed Flanagan's forearm smash on Brown about 10 times. It should be a red, apparently.

  34. We had the rattlers rattled, early on, and should have capitalised, but, as seems to be the norm, didn't. Their goalkeeper looks to be a liability, and must be tested, and tested again, in the 2nd half.

  35. We need another goal to be completely comfortable, but we also need to make sure we start the second half as sharply. I have to say that when we are as agressive as this at getting the ball back, it's a joy to watch. It must be a nightmare to play against that though. Brilliant stuff Rangers.

  36. They can't get past our high block. It's a not so much a high press from us, because we're not pressing the man, but the zonal block is high and stopping them.

  40. As a fan vlog that would be excellent, add in that it is for a squad player who has hardly had a sniff in 4 months and the enthusiasm and passion Mrs P has for our club is amazing. Thoroughly entertaining 15 mins, not even all about us with some interesting stuff from Budapest thrown in as well as she tours with her family. Loved her comment at Stamford Bridge, "this is no Ibrox"!
