  1. I know for a fact they were fully aware of exactly what they were dancing on just before they landed on me and my friends, how none of us were seriously injured is simply miraculous. Behaviour such as that has been highlighted to both Kilmarnock stewards and Rangers security for years, they were fully aware of our concerns but did absolutely nothing to address them other than patronise us.

  2. That was incredibly poor today and the manager has to address the lack of urgency in the last two games. Once or twice we were playing the ball in wee circles at walking pace, when we should have been countering quickly. Completely unacceptable lack of responsibility from key players as well. Didn't help that Tav, Davis and Arfield were so poor but surely other players can step up but, no we played the ball backwards to Goldson far, far too often which then resulted in a punt for us to lose the ball anyway. Awful. Fortunately, we did show good character in the last five mins but that's a tiny positive from a performance that should see Gerrard call it for what it was.

  3. I thought Barisic did OK in the first half but didn't impose himself at all on the game after half-time. He's just far too passive. Halliday is perhaps the better option despite his faults.

  4. Either way it was stupid behaviour and now it's headlines that could have been easily avoided if they had just stayed in the stand. This cult of "look at me, I'm an uber fan" is silly. You're not an uber fan. You are just an idiot

  5. Let’s not be fooled by the last minute winner here, that was a terrible performance & worryingly suggests Gerrard has learned nothing from last season. Which means that we continue to sit in on a 1-0 lead against teams who are there for the taking, only switching into attack when they equalise. Lets not kid on that is a game we would have lost last year, We’ll drop plenty more points using the same failed tactics as we did last year. Every move breaks down when it gets to Arfield, Aribo is being played too deep alongside spongebob square pass, Ojo is a downgrade on Kent, Tavernier can’t function without Candeias & Davis doesn’t have the legs for our midfield any more! How did he get MOTM off of Sky I’ll never know!

  6. Just remember we only took 2 league points out of 12 against this mob last year . So if this stays the same we are already eating into the points difference .

  7. If we're going to start whining about playing Kilmarnock and Aberdeen we should just pack it in and give up.

  8. It’s only incompetence if both sides are recipients of errors. When it is as one-sided as what we see from Callum, it’s cheating. Let’s not fanny about and call it out for what it is.

  9. Tav looks nowhere near as effective going forward without Candeias.

  11. Thought you were expecting a comfortable 3-0 win ?? Over confidence is just as bad amongst the support as it seems to be amongst the playing squad.

  13. i think we need to put aside our hatred for Hibs and see this as a great opportunity for Middleton to get some game time in a league that he needs to crack if he’s to have a future with us. Hekingbottom seems to be a good coach and Hibs have an attractive playing style unlike other teams like Killie. If he can push on with them this may be the best option, and he wouldn’t play against us. Could be a win/win.

  14. The discussion is all about centre backs but IMO if we are going to persist with Barisic we have a bigger problem, worst act today ---posted missing at goal.

  15. It seems odd, to me, that any negative focus is on our CBs. We have four decent CBs and our obvious problems are all further up the pitch.

  16. Not for the first time you talk nonsense about Goldson. Almost every post you call him a bombscare when it's just not true and it's pretty tedious to be honest. Goldson did give the ball away too much today but that's because, in the second half mainly, Jack, Davis and Aribo all passed the buck when it came to getting the ball forward or breaking the lines with their passing. Instead, time after time, they gave it back to Goldson who either had nothing on, or did pass it and got it straight back. He'd then play it long and not always to a Rangers player which isn't good enough. I've criticised him for that lack of patience but he wasn't the only one guilty of it. Katic ballooned a few of his effort too unfortunately, whilst Tav was awful (last 5mins aside) and Barisic largely hid after half-time. In terms of his defensive duties though Goldson, as usual, was as solid throughout and I can't remember him giving the ball away in dangerous areas once, never mind four times. As for Katic, I'm as big a fan of his no-nonsense style as anyone else but his distribution is very, very weak and his positioning isn't as good as it can be. That often leads to Halliday or Barisic playing further inside than they should be leaving us open to the cross-field pass and a few times that was an issue in the second half. That's why the manager has paid £3m for Erlander. By all means criticise players and support your favourites Pete but be fair and a bit more measured. Goldson is our first choice defender and rightly so. If he was any sort of 'bombscare' he wouldn't be in the team and wouldn't be vice-captain either. He's certainly not perfect and his lack of pace (or at least his weakness on the turn) is a concern for me but he's more reliable than anyone else and organises the defence more than the other centre-halves we've had of late. Can Edmundson or Erlander displace him? Perhaps they can and they will rightly be rotated in but Goldson has had a fine 14 months at Rangers and I have as much confidence in him as the manager thankfully does.

  17. We might be able to solve that particular conundrum by moving Docherty there. Pretty sure he played wide right at Shrewsbury and his goal return might be a bonus for us. In pre-season he clearly showed the right hunger and attitude. And if I'm not mistaken, didn't he have a stint at right back for Hamilton? Would seem the perfect cover for Tav.

  18. 3 points the albatross off our backs will do for me.Maybe Morelos didn't cover properly at goal ,but where were left sided defenders?. Praise must go to Alfie for not reacting to the wrestling throw by Broadfoot and the question asked of the Hobbit why he had to speak to both as it was all the Killie's player actions. Unfortunately the headlines are made by the morons dancing on the disabled shelter causing collapse and injury. The club MUST seek out the fat, baldy guy in black and the guy in the pink shirt and ban them from any further games, IMO.as we can do without negative headlines this early.

  19. That was tough to watch today but after 20 minutes I thought my pre-game prediction of being too good and strong for Kilmarnock was looking very likely with some good play and moving them around in defence. However something is definitely not right with this teams mentality. In that first 20 Kilmarnock couldn't get near us, we score a well worked goal from a set play, and then the complacency crept in starting from the back with Goldson, Tav and Barisic in particular slowing the game right down with square balls across the middle and the back line, the runners stop running and the game continues more or less at walking pace. It then spreads through the team and continued into the second half. Aribo is playing far too deep, Davis passing not particularly effective today and Arfield is a good week behind the team in terms of fitness, Movement and sharpness. Morelos scrapped and tried for anything that came near him but the service up to him was absolutely abysmal to be honest. Ojo has continued in the look good doing nothing category. There was a marked difference in urgency when Jones and Stewart came on for Arfield and Ojo late in the game. Ryan Jack was by far our best player on the park today and he had to be too and he put in an unbelievable amount of work particularly in the second half because Ojo doesn't offer Tav any protection not that Tav played particularly well today but without the cover of a hard working wide man Tav is really struggling. I don't know if this is a tactical move, bringing Jack back there to cover for Tav by the management team or not, but its certainly not working for me. it removes his industry in midfield going towards the opposition box and masks that we're having to carry a fairly lazy player in Ojo.

  21. I know we won but I am very worried after the last couple of games. The lack of spark, drive and urgency in this team so early in the season is frightening

  22. We made a tactical switch in that game about ten minutes before half time. It was the same change we made against Progres and Blackburn and I don't like it. We were completely dominating the midfield thanks to the movement of the 3. Tav then is either told to, or decides to play 20 to 30 yards further forward, meaning that Jack then sits in as the right back. This is fine now and again but staying like this gives them the advantage in the middle of the park and it allowed them to dominate us. This surely can't be the best use of our creative players, and makes us fragile. This was a warning today and we need to maintain our shape. I'd like to know if this is the management's decision or if this is just Tav trying to do the right thing by pushing forward but not realising the consequences. Jack was the playmaker in the first half and turned into Tav's safety net by the end of the half. What a waste!!!

  23. I’d start with Docherty against Hibs. It’s from the age of dinosaurs, I know, and Guardiola * would have a fit, but for the league in which Rangers play, what’s wrong with a strong bloke running at a defence from deep? Best case he opens the defence for a shot or for other attackers to run on. Failing that when tackled the ball breaks favourably or if the defender wins the ball cleanly he’s vulnerable to a quick counter tackle. Worst case the ball is lost and the opposition set up their own attack but the defence should be alert to do their job. *And Rousseau too, of course.

  24. He could be useful but for me he's not a starter. Not unless we have an agreement that he has to feature whilst on loan? If that's the case forget it. We should be concentrating on our own players

  25. ... that said, Frankie, Jones and Stewart should have come around the 60 min mark, as we were losing any grip on the game rapidly. Aribo and Ojo were largely empty jerseys in the 2nd half (and probably have to adapt to Scottish football), but the passing from Tav and Co. was also becoming ever more erratic, as was decision-making. Was thinking we opened up a little after HT to let them come at us and thus have more space, but we never got back into it. Here is where the manager needs to act and he let it run far too long, IMHO. Lucky three points and soon to be forgotten.

  26. F*CKIN' YAAAASSSSS!!!! I'll take any win, to be honest. We've not been good, against our bogey side -- again, this year, it seems... ffs -- got away with it and found a way to win.

  30. Ojo offers us nothing at this stage of the season , like Kent last year , we simply can not afford to give any player half a season to bed in.

  31. We're 1-0 up so of course we don't really want an open, quick game but neither do we want to leave all the play-making to our defenders as if/when Killie equalise we're struggle to lift our tempo again. If I was the manager I'd be really annoyed at how passive we've been at times.

  33. Have to say I'm not happy with that performance, especially after we scored. We're far, far too ponderous on the ball and our decision-making is dreadful at times meaning we're constantly giving the ball away or running down blind allies. Tav is also having a nightmare whilst Arfield and Aribo aren't in the game at all. All in all, I appreciate Killie are sitting very deep but we need to move the ball quicker and play with a lot more intelligence. Thankfully we've been reasonably assured at the back but KIllie do carry a threat on the counter.

  34. Due respect and all that, but no Rangers player has any experience on today's pitch. It was laid during the close season, it's a new pitch.

  35. Candeias and Kent weren't playing wide, though. We've not had 'wingers' in quite some time. Arfield will be playing in the half-space.

  36. I've heard his fee quoted from everything down for £12 m to £8 with Villa apparently interested. Still too much for us. Personally I think Candeias will be a bigger loss for us.

  37. Has to be head over heart with these kind of moves. Middleton would strengthen Hibs against Celtic and and weaken them against us by his absence. It’s pragamatism, even if it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. And by the way even though their fans are the way they are, there’s a big difference between Petrie and Lennon and now Rangers supporting Leanne Dempster, the American guy and Heckingbottom. The previous regime wouldn’t have even asked the question. We’ve signed young talent from Hibs in the past and will have a better chance of doing so again if mutually beneficial loans like this are arranged. Put yourself in Dempster’s shoes, she’d rather do business with us than them.

  39. Goldson was certainly the better of the four defenders today but we leaned far too much on him for passing when Davis and Aribo should have been doing much more.

  40. Brown is often booked for challenges that merit red cards. That back my point up, the standard of referee in Scotland is poor. That said, fans down south believe the standard of referee down there is shocking too.
