It's a real shame when you can't post an article on the forum without being forensically double-teamed by pedantic smarty pants (Do they really have nothing better to do?) I'd like to draw your attention to the forum's ignore function.5 points

Stop detracting from the young man's superb performance by bickering like auld weemin4 points

I take it posters are joking about wanting Simms? He's an awful footballer - does nothing but put his weight about.4 points

Rosseau, Well done you. Again after another season, please allow me to commend your application. Administrating the GPL for all our benefit is most worthy.4 points

Ah! Robert Burns very good. How about Kenneth Williams? Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it infamy!3 points

They won't sue because they can't sue. I'm sure we'll see a resolution soon enough once the SPFL have decided who the fall guy is going to be.3 points

Just going through this thread. I thought Simms won the vast majority of challenges with either Goldson or Balogun. Hard running with robust strength goes a long way in the Scottish game. If Everton do not renew his contract, I think he is worth a punt?3 points

Spare a thought for the work 'R1-0' puts into the predictor league....and he must have spent ages looking for a way of presenting a table that had him at the top. 😉😁3 points

I'm not one for highlighting referees but some of the decisions today were beyond baffling. The one in the corner when Halliday took the feet away from Bassey was as clear a foul as you will see.3 points

To say something is interesting is to say that you want to know more about it. You say this is interesting because you are surprised that a B.B.C. columnist would write something positive about Rangers. I don't know what more you want to know about Tom's decision to write this article. I can't even imagine what is unclear about it. Rangers won the Scottish cup. Bassey is attracting attention from outwith Scotland after the Europa league final. Tom wants page views to justify himself to his employers. He is riding Bassey's coat tails to get those page views. (Want to get inside the tiny mind of a columnist? See here for more info) The article itself is rubbish. You can distill it down to a handful of obvious facts including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Bassey is fit enough to play extra time in two successive matches. 2. Rangers have not won many trophies recently. 3. Rangers faced a challenge to motivate themselves for the Scottish cup final. 4. A series of facts about play in the Scottish cup final. All well known to us and buried within Tom's excessively verbose text. I thought I would find some interesting opinion contained within but I didn't.2 points

BBC Scotland's Irishman English posts an article critical of Rangers, Rangers' player(s), or Rangers' support - no news BBC Sotland's Irishman English posts an article not critical of Rangers, Rangers' player(s), or Rangers' support - news This may be like a dog walking on its hind legs, ie not done well, but it is surprising to see it done at all, and therefore may be worthy of comment.2 points

Those on the Pedantic Smarty Pants Content Double Team have put in a long shift today. They were also busy on the Pacific Quay thread first thing this morning. Remind me of a couple of those wee yappy dugs, who seem to exist to annoy folk.2 points

I read the article. The sentiment was positive but the content seemed forced and shallow, the sort of thing someone might throw together on demand rather that conviction. Tom English is capable of decent writing but this wasn't it.2 points

I'd have thought someone in Sweden would sign Helander and a club in Europe somewhere would take Itten? Simpson might be a nomimal fee/mutual agreement sort of thing. McLaughlin's show yesterday just confirmed for me he's more than capable of being our number one. He's not a sweeper-keeper, but he's not afraid to come well out of his box to help recycle the ball or clear it. And how great was it when he came for a couple of corners yesterday? Opposition corners when its all even or we're only one up have given me the fear, but he just came, grabbed the ball, no panic. Do we think we might see Diallo again next season? Someone seems to have had a word with him and he seems to get what's expected of a Rangers player in the last few times I've seen him. I know effort isn't everything, but he's clearly talented. I thought Souttar played well yesterday too, so is hopefully a good addition.2 points

He seems like such a nice, down to earth guy with lots of humility and is clearly loving life here. Given his age and all of that, I'd hope he's in no rush to go anywhere and is looking forward to the CL qualifiers as one of the first names on the team sheet.2 points

We enter in the 3rd round of qualifiers (non-champions path) and the draw is on the 18th of July. We are seeded Seeds Benfica Rangers Dinamo Kiev PSV Eindhoven Non-Seeds Monaco Midtjylland Sturm Graz Union Saint-Gilloise https://kassiesa.net/uefa/seedcl2022.html Of the 7 other teams involved, I can remember playing them all other than Union St.G. Of the 4 possible opponents, we drew both Sturm Graz and Monaco in the same CL group back in 2000. Despite aggregate wins against both, we were eliminated from the group. In fact, probably our best ever first two games in a group were a 5-0 home win against the Austrians, followed up by a 0-1 away win in Monaco (I think Gio scored the goal). For older Bears, PSV (1978) and Kiev (1987) were both notable victories. Benfica (2 draws) and Midtjylland (7-3 agg.win) were more recent encounters with SG in charge. Qualifying for CL Play-off round would ensure somewhere in the region of at least 7M Euros. - 5M pay-out for losers of play off round - Other benefits (including home gate) Losing CL3Q would put us straight into the EL Group stage First leg will be August 2 or 3 Second leg August 9 Draw for CL Play-Off Round will be on August 2 https://kassiesa.net/uefa/calendar2022.html .1 point

The winter break move was definitely hooky, and SPL teams acquieced to it. This is not the first time they have rolled over and let rasellik sodomise them. The email title springs to mind. As for controlling referees, I think that the ummah will favour the ummah, anyway. As for cinch, imagine it was caught in the middle of a full blown corruption case. Not a good look for a second hand car company.1 point

“Interesting” is subjective. CF was interested by the article. He did not suggest that anyone else would be.1 point

I find it unlikely that we could ever get Gilmour on a permanent deal, but if so, I'm all for it. (Like I've said, though, I did think the Ramsey move was highly unlikely...) I think Simms only played in the last couple of games against us. Yes, about 1 goal in 3/4 games? He's not prolific. But he looks like a good physical presence with a bit of pace. And, he's only 21. I'm just saying, I wouldn't mind picking him up on a free. It would give us a physical presence up front.1 point

Like you, I made an exception and read it but there's nothing remotely interesting about it. English states the obvious and nothing more. That article is the literary version of Simms' performance for Hearts.1 point

Along with two mates, we sat -stood in Row A of the North Stand yesterday. A trio of lower to mid-sixties blokes eight or nine seats from the divide between the Rangers and Hearts supports. We had NO interaction, most of the supports immediately surrounding us were older guys, women and, several children. After Ryan Jack's screamer, my mate was hit on the head by a stainless steel Vaping pipe. This was a solid several inch long object. We retrieved it from the open couple of yards of concrete immediately in front of our seats but, before the retaining wall. A lady behind saw who threw the object and we reported it to the Police Officer at the front of the dividing line. The Officer refused to take action and, we demanded her superior officer hear our complaint. He took several minutes to arrive and was equally dismissive. Of course, the discussion quickly reduced to Police Scotland's zeal for ensuring young supporters receive a criminal record for singing songs but, not wanting to report an action of thuggery. Meanwhile, the lad in his mid-30s that threw the object was intent upon constant gesticulation. The male Sgt accompanying the female Inspector concluded any reaction from our grouping would result in Police action. A couple of minutes later, the Referee blew the final whistle and the Jambos turned to tramp back up the terrace stairs. One remained with his arm and finger outstretched. We held up the vape pipe, pointed at him and sang, 'Dirty Vapish Bastard'. The female Inspector laughed, her Sgt had serious facial issues.1 point

This lad has all. Over the course of the season, he did his work as a centre-half and left-back, is willing to attack if space presents itself, can flank a ball and the way he skipped past three (admittedly) Hearts players late in the game was just superb. Doesn`t shy from big occasions or teams. No matter the money offered, we should keep this lad and built a team alongside him.1 point

Looked a solid chap, would sure add to the team as a squad player, not least with some better coaching.1 point

Terrific to see us finish the season by lifting a trophy. Been far too long. The players missed out of celebrating with the fans last season so great they got to do it now. Hopefully this is the start of a winning habit year on year. Hearts weren’t in the game and it was hard to see anything but a Rangers win. Even if it’s through extra time. Should have been in normal time via a penalty for the shirt pull on Aribo. must also say that was one of the worst referee performances I have ever seen. It’s as if he got just about everything wrong.1 point

Just back from the game, and Hearts tried (in vain) to bore us into submission, they were terrible. 90mins of nothingness then two great goals in 1st half of extra-time. Good to finally to burst the Hampden hoodoo. Couple of minor negatives from today; Hampden is a disgrace for a National Stadium and Willie Collum should be relegated to schoolboy football.1 point

My feeling is we are going to have huge changes this summer, or at least we should. If we get a good offer for Bassey we should take it, in return we might sign 4 good quality first team players for the money. Morelos will have to go if he doesn’t sign an extension too. I’d try to move on Roofe and Helander if possible, I like them as players but we can’t rely on them. I’d keep on Tav, not sure when his contract is up. Kent too if we can sign him up. But the reality is we need 2 new strikers, a left winger, nearly a whole new defence. A GK. a lot of work…1 point
