There are a number of reasons: 1. Apathy, as rbr says. This covers both those who want someone else to do it and those who don't care about fan ownership in the slightest. 2. The share purchase model - it's basically giving away money. People may be willing to buy shares that they then own but with C1872, they don't have any sort of ownership, and many cases, if you stop putting cash in, you cease to be a member. 3. Economics - many have financial issues, and other priorities of how to use their cash. 4. Lack of trust - the running of C1872 has hardly been smooth over the past while.

Our strongest front line is Murphy,Morelos,Candeias with Windass breaking from deep, Cummings will start if Murphy is out, if not he will be on the bench.

He tried to appeal to his assailant that although he was obviously a Rangers fan and Tony a Celtic player he was just minding his own business on his day off and would he mind leaving him alone. The 'fan' got even angrier shouting at a dumb-founded Cascarino that he was in fact a Celtic supporter. Tony's not particularly complimentary about his time at Celtic.

Why would we effectively shoot ourselves in the foot, by leaving out the countries top scorer??? As others have said, Morelos brings a lot more than just goals. Years ago, Boyd was heavily criticised for not working hard enough for the team, and that he needed to do more than just score goals. Now we have a very hard working player, who causes opposing defences all sorts of problems & scores goals, and we're talking about dropping him for possibly the biggest game of the season (so far)

I'm certain we will stick with 4-2-3-1 as long as Murphy is fit. There's no reason to change it otherwise. As for the left back position, Murty did say he needed to get game time for some so he was arranging a closed door game. I'm expecting the purpose of this is to get Wallace or DJ fit. Halliday has done well but our system requires a quick threat down that side and that's not his game. I expect Cummings will be on the bench and itching to be involved. We will be two up at that stage and he will come on and score the third.

Going to stick my neck out and say he should be dropped for the beasts from the east game. I'm sick and tired of him miss sitter after sitter. I think he is a vastly overrated player and reckon the club made a massive blunder by turning down 7 never mind 11 mill for him. Cummings has to start. He's a big game player and will be far more likely to score against the mhanks.

If I remember correctly, he got his own back on their club on the field many times. I just wish we had held on to him for longer because he was class. I can remember their behaviour with bananas but it just seemed to motivate him and the rest of the team further because he went on to do well after that.

Spot on! We need to get right behind the team from 60 minutes before the game until they walk off the pitch at the end. We need to refrain from getting on their backs if they make mistakes because we can make a difference to their mood. Of course, the team needs to give us something to shout about too.

I was 8 when we signed him and instantly liked him and the way he played. His reaction to events at the Piggery show what a good guy he is - no attempt to play the victim, just a dignified shrug of the shoulders and rising above it. I remember being very disappointed when he signed for Liverpool.

Ajax and Feynoord have done that. They only get tickets for their home games. Their were a lot of complaints at the start but i hear nothing about it anymore.

I was very similar to the author of this. Walters was my type of player and I loved watching him. I remember him turning defenders inside out and being able to get a good cross in even when it looked impossible. But what I remember most was that he always seemed to play with a smile. There was one move he did a few times, but I remember it vividly in a game against Hearts. Our goalie kicked it out (can't remember who it was) and Walters took it in one touch facing our own goal, spun around while nut megging the Hearts player, and then ran in on goal. I don't think he scored but it was a terrific piece of skill and it's funny how things like that stick in your mind. Even when you watched him in slow motion, it was hard to tell what his feet were doing. Absolutely cracking player!!!

There may be less manks in the stadium but they will be in a different section with Rangers fans very nearby. Far more police will be required INSIDE that part of the stadium. Policing Hivs and Sheep can in no way be compared to policing Rangers v Celtic. The division between the fans will be wider. I take your point about ticket costs being raised and that would certainly service the shortfall. Police advice is essential and important and, now that their staff come under H & S rules I just don't see them wearing the risk unless police numbers are dramatically increased - something the clubs baulked at several years ago. Personally I'd just ban the bastards altogether.

I don't know about the previous supporters' organisations other than what I pick up on here. I only decided to be part of Club 1872 because it was the only way I could do something. For me it's better to do something (even if it's not ideal) than do nothing, but that's easy for me to say because I've not had the issues you've experienced in the past.

I've made various contributions to the Rangers cause over the last six years, including buying shares that will never recover their value and donating quite a large sum to the RFFF that someone decided should instead be used to build a facility at Auchenhowie. I even allowed the voting rights of those shares to be used collectively by Vanguardbears on a case by case basis. However, I made a conscious decision not to take part in the RF campaign on a regular basis because over the years I had largely lost faith in the ability of supporters' organisation to deliver on their promises - largely due to the antics of the entirely mis-named Supporters Trust. While I continue to back the notion of supporter participation and would like nothing more than to see more shares in the hands of supporters, nothing I've seen in C1872 has changed my mind. I would be delighted to buy more shares in any future share issue, so long as it was my money buying my shares at my risk and under my control. However, like many other like-minded fans, the board won't afford me that option and I refuse to be railroaded into using my cash to buy shares that someone else will own and have decision-making rights over. It's a bit rich to see aspersions cast on non-participants after the conduct displayed by supporters' organisations over the years. It's not apathy, some of us just have long memories. If C1872 is for you then good luck with it but please leave it at that.

If you play two strikers you lose the midfield battle. The way teams break against us, I find playing two very dangerous; against Celtic that seems completely unthinkable. I don't agree with that; it keeps getting trotted out every time Windass is mentioned. He's actually one of our best performers against the big sides, if not our best. Sure he goes missing at times, but what player doesn't; and no other pops up with Goals and Assists like he does. He has 4 Assists and 2 goals for us at home, mostly against Aberdeen and Hibs -- is that really "rank-rotten"?

Spot on BD, those 4 points are right on the money. Of those, I would put your point 3 as the least important but the other 3 are very vaild and what I hear coming back all the time when discussing this. Even in the spivvy days, apathy was everywhere. The "I am only interested in going to see the Rangers" band is a large band. They dont care who owns us, runs us, finances us, as long as they can renew their ST and go to Ibrox and watch us play. The lack of trust in C1872 is a huge point also. Many see C1872 as being the club's baby to get rid of RF & RST. This was tried unsuccessfully before with the Assembly but this time it is working better because of the RF share purchase model. The fact the Rangers Secretary is an influential Director is a major hurdle. Also, C1872 does not ever criticise the club, or get involved enough in backing the fans, or taking to task our enemies. That is what the majority of fans want from a supporters body, and why RST was initially very successful. The share purchase model is of course also a very important one. For those fans who want to say they own a wee part of the club, C1872 is not the option for them, as you rightly point out you have no claim to anything back from the money a member puts in. It is not too difficult to see why this is not such an attractive proposition for those who are considering it.

Cummings won't get half the room if you don't have Morelos pulling defenders away. It is a catch 22 problem.

Boabie there will be less police costs, 7500 against 1,000 fans, surely that could half the police presence? The Broomloan will be filled by Bears paying the extra cost for that ticket, currently an extra fifty quid, so on tickets sales and revenue there won´t be any financial loss. if they can police the Hivs and the Sheep they can police the scum. They are always seats given over to being a seperation between fans, they do it even against the smaller teams who bring about fifty fans, so nothing new or needed changed there.

I'd caution against being too confident for a few reasons; Celtic only need a draw This is huge thing. If Rodgers has any common sense he will take full advantage of the fact that they do not need to win the game but we do. He can ask his team to bide their time, don't take too many risks and wait for our pourous defense to open up. However there's a decent chance Rodgers doesn't have this common sense and will set up to attack out of pride. We on the other hand need to win, and if we're stuck at 0-0 for too long we'll start to take risks and throw men forward. The prospect of us pushing up and taking risks and Celtic playing on the counter is not a good one We're at home Should be an advantage but it isn't. There's something about the psychology of playing at home that just isn't working well with this group of players. Whether it's the big sighs for misplaced passes or just the sheer expectation I don't know, but the fact is this group of players have been worse at home than away by some margin Murphy may be out Murphy is a huge player, not just in terms of his ability but what he offers to our system. He is unique in the squad in terms of what he offers the team and how he fits in Halliday at left back He's been good in the last couple of games but that's what you'd expect from an attack minded left back in two 4-1 wins. He hasn't been tested in a game where our full backs are under the cosh and for me he will not be as good as Declan John at this For me it's all about taking our early chances (before we need to take any risks). We will almost certainly have good chances in the opening half hour. If we take them then the fact they only need a draw isn't a big a problem. However if we aren't clinical and spurn our chances they can take full advantage of that and start to punish us on the counter as we start to take more and more risks as the game goes on.

Never could get excited about foreign club football. Doesn't seem right somehow, suggests pandering to the global elite of football. You never see anyone extolling the virtues of Bari or Getafe. It's like seeing the endless stream of Scottish school kids wearing Barca or RM strips while Scottish clubs scrape in the gutter to pay the electricity bill.

He really is exceptional in what he has managed to do. A different continent and culture Goals in Finland Goals in Scotland with the pressure of playing for a big club Not to mention his physique and how he uses it to good advantage as well as a knowledge of how to play the role that suggests more experience.

It's also very easy to forget that Morelos is still only 21 years old.

Morelos had an off day yesterday and did miss two glorious chances but he still played fine overall and he'd be in my team every single week for the threat he offers - not just in terms of goals but the overall way he leads the line. I'#m not sure Cummings has that in him yet but can't argue with his efforts yesterday in a more withdrawn role.

That's because he was playing wide-left; he wasn't playing as an out-and-out forward. I got annoyed at how the commentators kept mentioning it: that was his job, to track back. It wasn't that he was a striker that was doing a lot more work than he should have; he was doing what he had to do for the role. He was playing on the left, of what was essentially a 4-1-4-1.

I also get frustrated about the chances he misses, but he is easily our most dangerous player and has to start. He terrorises defences all game and creates the space for others. As for his valuation, if he scored more of his chances he'd be worth at least double what is being quoted. I like Cummings, but Morelos is our top threat and I can't wait to see his celebration next weekend when he scores.

Given the two assaults on Bates in the last two games, both punished by yellow cards. I think it would be reasonable for the club to somehow publicly ask the question of the SFA wrt the rules, this week before the celtic game.

The sender could, I submit, have been a disgruntled sellikfan incensed by Pierre's attempts to engineer a transfer to a more lucrative billet. It was no Rangers' man who called him, and his two colleagues, "The Three Amigos", nor who declared that, "They won't get one thin dime out of me...." That was Fergus 'The Bunnet Hustler' McCann, who, by his remarks, placed Pierre, Jorge Cadete, and the other fellow (name elusive) beyond the pale for the the average dhim.

Nobody is suggesting 'pushing' the Rhabble's agenda. Thnk of it more as exposing its holey, wholly threadbare, and dirty green, unholy nickers to public ridicule. and opprobrium.

His game is a lot more than just goals. For a guy who’s not tall, he wins a lot of headers and creates a lot of chances and link up play. His passing can be erratic at times but when he gets it right it usually creates some great chances.

Whenever Thomson referees a Rangers game clear cut decisions always seem to go against us. Today was no exception. But until we've a manager prepared to speak out it will continue

Just on the way back. Another great performance from the team. Some of the football is terrific. Just a joy to watch. Tavernier was MOTM for me but I guess you have to give it to Cummings. We can win next week and in the semi final. Great football all roun. Fantastic!

As long as Rangers keep saying nothing (publicly at least) abut these weekly assaults then the officials will opt for leniency. Punch a Rangers player in the baws, yellow card. Bounce the ball hard when frustrated with a decision, yellow card. Hmmm....

It's a good point. I have stated before, I am a license fee payer. My professional life was sixteen years in the Parachute Regiment. I relied on the BBC World Service to provide news, current affairs, sports, ..... etc. If I continue to pay my license fee, why should BBC Scotland get away with NOT providing a service? There are disabled Bears, sick Bears, Bears living in remote areas, Bears around the world working, ...... etc. Again, they deserve a service. The PQ gang hut mentality deserves to be exposed and ridiculed, at every turn.
