Unfortunately, whataboutery simply won’t help us in this current situation .Until the club actually take one of these hating bastards all the way through the courts , they will simply keep on coming . What doesn’t help is the fact that , the fake video aside , we keep on giving them a free hit , Saturday was so obvious , anyone with half a brain cell could see it coming . We never learn , Manchester is a case in point , 2 weeks prior to that final and the authorities were still adamant they weren’t putting on fans zones , no matter how many people and authorities told them otherwise , when they eventually relented they made an arse of it . Saturday was a release of 10 years of hurt , that no one in the city council had the foresight to see this just shows how little they care , or really understand about us , they could have opened the stadium , they could have put a fanzine in a park near Ibrox , but no , lalalala not listening , it’s pathetic , but unfortunately not unexpected .7 points

Borna is for sure as is Defoe. A few others probably are. Who knows and who cares.5 points

Throw the book at Rangers, turn a blind eye to Celtic (or, failing that, Hibs will do). Make sure the harshness of your condemnation for any transgression is proportional to the number of Union flags on display. Pretend to be concerned about bigotry when really you're just defending your chosen side, playing goodies and baddies, and politicizing the issue rather than tackling it. It's a dangerous thing the Scottish government are doing. If you're partizan and outspoken on the subject of sectarianism (like Haggerty, 3 names) you're part of the problem. If you're partizan, outspoken and in a position of authority (like Yousaf and the selectively outraged tartan sinn fein MSPs) you're guilty of escalating the problem to a whole new level.5 points

He isn't. Several of the squad are though and regularly bless themselves on the park.3 points

I doff my. Bonnet to Mrs Compo for her reasonable and understanding attitude. Not all spouses are content to let their other halves muse happily to themselves.2 points

Wow, just wow.... So Rangers took the lead in trying to minimise the crowds in Glasgow, came up with a very, very viable and sensible suggestion and the SNP Government refused. I hope this has been leaked as the start of our fight back.2 points

News today that reformed club Macclesfield FC is to join North West Counties Premier Division next season. Another club Another example of financial mismanagement. Good luck to the Silkmen on a long and arduous journey back to the football league.2 points

The support has moved on considerably in the last 40 years. The reaction to Saturday's events has far more to do with the bitterness of our detractors than it has to do with our current sectarianism. They still go on about the signing policy FFS.2 points

Thanks for correcting that mistake but it doesn't detract from my point.2 points

I clearly heard Tom English on the radio last night saying that he was disappointed that the club statement mentioned everything in the "Anyone Everyone" campaign except sectarianism; that is blatantly untrue as the above statement shows. I get all of the anger against people ripping up bollards and attacking police and throwing bottles; what I don't get is the attempts to manufacture sectarianism. I have heard that Connor Goldson is catholic, and we all know Gerrard is, so why on earth would they put up with anything anti-catholic in their own dressing room? This in a squad with only 2 Scottish first team players?2 points

This for me, and recency bias is working against Tavernier. For me, when they performed at their best has to come into it. Tavernier was the best player in the league when we were in a real battle for the title. Celtic only dropped 2 points in their first 9 games before we beat them. That loss caused them to briefly fall away but then they rallied in December before, yet again, a loss to Rangers killed their momentum. Only at that point did many Rangers fans allow themselves to believe we were going to win the league. Tavernier's performances were a huge part in pushing us ahead of Celtic when they were still very much in the title race. Good form in recent months is great but of less value than when the pressure was really on, in my opinion. Of course, I don't begrudge votes for any member of this squad and believe there is strong case for many of them.2 points

True but I know what @Charlochmeans. The diversity of the team and the women’s XI are blanked out by the opposition. Rangers had a distinguished captain in Roman Catholic Lorenzo Amoruso but that doesn’t suit the agenda so it’s ignored.2 points

Good question and 2 or 3 of their players are linked with big moves. They wont do a Sheff Utd thats for sure. Average clubs that come up are good for the likes of Brighton and Burnley etc who hover around the bottom half as they are a team to beat who will stay under them. It isnt good for the league. Where as Leeds have been awesome this season and established themselves as a PL club again - they go 8th tonight with a win. Also Wolves have been the same. Norwich - I just cant work out. Excellent in the early days of the Premiership. I like the manager despite his high pitched voice and if they lose 3 players for 70 million they wont replace them. Edit - By doing a Sheff Utd I meant being top 9 in the first season rather than appalling second season.2 points

It’s naked “othering”, the dehumanising and delegitimising of those you hate. It’s what leftist nationalists do. Even the “civic” ones. It always ends in the gulags, concentration camps or gas chambers, if left unchecked. It is increasingly unchecked in Scotland.2 points

A very difficult decision, there are many who deserve recognition and a case for all to be voted player of the year. I have gone for Ryan Kent, simply because when he is on his game, he is unplayable, a player who truly excites and who gets you off your seat.2 points

The narrative will never change as long as SNP are in power. As I said previously we are seen as the last bastion of Unionism in Scotland and to win the next referendum, we have to be demonized and cut adrift from Scottish society. We had the opportunity to remove the SNP 4 weeks ago but 40% of the population decided not to vote. If SNP gain independence, God help us.1 point

There has been so many good performances and consistency that this might be the first time ever that there is no right or wrong answer to the POTY question anywhere. Plus the for and against arguments seem to be accepted by all - that just reflects how good the players have been.1 point

Perhaps not surprising that the people trying to have a go at Rangers today were all silent 5 years ago to the day almost when Rangers players got attacked at the end of the SC final by hibz supporters who jumped barriers to invade the pitch & cause mayhem. Exuberance it was called by someone who, unbelievably, is SFA president today. And that evening the FM tweeted how happy her hibz-supporting husband was. We live in a dangerous little country. We really do.1 point

It's such a familiar reaction to Rangers success that no one can be surprised at recent events. What is more worrying is the clear coordination between the SFA, government, media and police .... who now express their bigotry like a well-practised barbershop quartet. This is a direct consequence of SNP policy to centralise and control every aspect of public life. The only thing missing here is Bearger denouncing the Rangers support and defending the integrity of Sturgeon and Yousaf.1 point

His idiocy would be amusing if he wasn't an elected representative. As it is, it's deeply embarrassing that he holds such a lofty position at the Scottish Assembly.1 point

I noted Humza reinforcing a Police Scotland Tweet on this matter. Clearly, the video has been downloaded and the sound edited. It's what Humza wants to believe, he needs to believe it. Within 15 minutes of Humza's Tweet, lot's of other folks, we will call them the usual suspects are re-Tweeting with added comments. These include James Dornan MSP, Angela Haggerty, Jum Spence, Stan Collymore, ..... etc. The video was uploaded on to TikTok by 'WullieWanker'. I advise the Rangers players involved to Lawyer up and begin civil proceedings.1 point

It all seems orchestrated out of all proportion. Many thousands gathered with alcohol to celebrate. Some lost the plot as some always do. It’s what always happens and certainly isn’t unique to Rangers or football. We’ve seen the same and worse from BLM, Extinction Rebellion, pro-Palestine, anti-Trump, etc and all without the carefully coordinated statements being broadcast today. I’m not excusing any violent behaviour and anyone involved in it should be prosecuted but neither do I accept the clearly choreographed condemnation I’ve seen today. There’s one set of standards for Rangers and another for everyone else - you know it, I know it, they know it. I believe I see it for what it is and, while I’m annoyed by it, I’m neither surprised nor distracted from the club’s tremendous achievements.1 point

For me, it has to be James Tavernier. Whilst I've easily picked an XI of possible winners, the captain has really stood out this season for me. Yes, he unfortunately missed ten games through injury but it says a lot for his fitness and mental strength that he was able to return and play an important part in our final five games of the campaign. I appreciate the calls for various other players but if we take away some understandable recency bias, then Tav sticks out for his defensive improvements, his attacking play, his taking of responsibility and his overall leadership of the side which stands up to the kind of scrutiny we usually reserve for Rangers legends of the past. Well, James, you're in that company now for me and few of this current squad deserve it more.1 point

Yes, I did, but apparently the rules state that if it [handball] doesn't play an immediate role in the goal, then it doesn't matter. There's the handball, then it goes back, then it's the move for the goal. VAR really highlights how some of these rules are stupid.1 point
-
Agree however do you think there was handball leading up to Leicester's goal similar to the handball decision given by var at the silva incident? I think if one was handball then both were.1 point
